On Monday, June 20, Lufthansa flight LH411 from New York to Munich aborted its takeoff after another plane approached the runway that had been cleared for LH411’s takeoff. Officially referred to as a takeoff halt, this standard operating procedure is frequently practiced by Lufthansa’s pilots in the training simulator. At no point was the safety of our passengers at risk. After a thorough inspection, the flight departed for Munich and arrived safely without further incidents, with a delay of about two hours.
